Job Title: Store Manager Location: Port Talbot, Wales - SA12 6QL Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 DOE Forming in 1977 with 30 stores, Nisa now has over 40 years of history in local convenience retail.
Today it s erve s communities across the UK with over 2,500 local independently owned stores.
We are an independent, family owned business, established more than 10 years ago, encompassing five Nisa stores within South and West Wales.
Our flagship store is right in front of the iconic Cardiff Castle.
We are actively recruiting for an exciting role of a Store Manager for our shop in Port Talbot .
As our Store Manager, your main purpose would be to oversee the day to day management of the store, with prime responsibility of sales growth and maintaining store standards.
The Store Manager needs to ensure all colleagues are trained and are capable of carrying out their responsibilities, ensure 100% availability with a high level of customer service and also a high level of store standards.
In this role, you would have the overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the day to day running of the store with specific responsibilities listed below.
Your Main Responsibilities as our Store Manager: Colleagues Manage, motivate and lead by example in providing a service to our customers which is second to none, as well as ensuring full compliance with policies and procedures.
Manage colleague hours within the budget designated and managing weekly rotas to protect and enhance customer service, and ensure full cover within the store at all times.
Carry out appraisals identifying training opportunities using self-learning open work books, as well as on the job training and coaching.
Carry out in store discipline and capability procedures in line with legislation and company procedures.
Recruit where necessary, in line with legislation and company policy.
Maintain discipline and ensure that all company’s systems and procedures are carried out on a consistent and thoroug h manner at all times.
Stock Responsibility for ordering stock on a daily/weekly basis in accordance with plan-o-grams aiming to achieve full availability at all times.
Maintaining stock levels within the stores budget.
Ensure all merchandise in stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly and displayed in a safe and hygienic manner.
Protect stock against loss or damage through mishandling, short deliveries by suppliers, theft or fraud by employees and or members of the public.
The Law Ensure compliance with the law with regard to all aspects of running a retail outlet that sells both food and non-food items, many of which have an age restriction attached to them specifically looking at the Offices, Shops and Railway Premises Act.
Ensure compliance with any age restriction with regard to products sold in the store Assist the customer with their demands, suggestions and complaints.
Security Responsible for the security of the following: Security of Customer Service Colleagues and other employees working within the store Security of the stock, cash, cheques and other valuable assets stored or used within the store.
Responsible for the physical security of the store/including call outs.
Cleaning Responsible for all aspects of cleaning and cleanliness both in the retail area and back office area showing that a proper rota and programme of cleaning is put in place and adhered to at all times.
Ensure that windows are kept clean and that the outside area of the store is kept in a pristine manner so that our customers are pleased to visit the store.
Attendance at Training Courses, Development Opportunities & Company Meetings Attendance is mandatory for all colleagues at training meetings.
To have an active role and input into the Operations strategy To contribute to the development of the store and area Play an active part in the team Sales Growth Maximise sales growth through compliance with Plan-O-Grams and promotional activity coupled with 100% availability.
Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers.
Plan, communicate, execute and manage marketing and merchandising programs.
Develop the strategic positioning of the store within the local market.
Profit Growth Minimise expenditure and waste and maximise profits, through effective management within the store.
What we’re looking for in our Store Manager : GCSE ‘C’ Grade or above or equivalent in Maths and English.
NVQ level 2 in retail and or customer service.
(desirable) Personal Licence Certificate.
(desirable) Retail management experience.
Proven experience in a busy retail environment and the ability to manage a team of people to achieve maximum results for stock management, sales growth and profit.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Positive and flexible attitude.
Be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable.
Possess a good degree of objectivity and be able to work without bias in certain situations.
Self-motivated.
