An lovely two-form entry primary school in Harrow is seeking to recruit a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This full-time role will run through to July 2026, and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute meaningfully to teaching and learning across the school.

This is a key role that involves delivering high-quality support both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will step in to lead whole-class learning when teachers are absent, as well as support group work and targeted interventions. Flexibility, professionalism, and a solid understanding of the primary curriculum are essential.

Whether you're an experienced HLTA or aiming to build a pathway into Initial Teacher Training, this post offers valuable classroom-based experience in a supportive and well-organised school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading lessons in the teacher's absence across a range of year groups

Supporting small group interventions to boost attainment

Preparing teaching resources and maintaining classroom organisation

Working closely with class teachers and other support staff

Delivering consistent, high-quality learning experiences for pupils

Responding flexibly to the dynamic needs of the school day

The ideal candidate will:

Hold HLTA status or have comparable experience

Have experience delivering lessons in a primary school setting

Possess strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum

Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents

Work well under pressure and manage classroom routines confidently

Demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach to school life
