Our client, a leading engineering organisation, is looking to appoint a Project Engineer to join their growing team based near Leeds. This is a great opportunity for a skilled engineering professional to take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, from initial customer consultation through to final installation.
As Project Engineer, you will play a key role in understanding customer requirements, translating them into practical engineering solutions, and ensuring successful project execution. This will include creating technical drawings, coordinating with internal teams, managing timelines and budgets, and visiting customer sites for surveys and progress reviews.
Project Engineer – Role and Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Manager / CAD / Design / Applications Engineer
- Take ownership of engineering projects from concept to delivery
- Review customer specifications and translate requirements into project deliverables
- Conduct site surveys to assess project scope and gather technical data
- Produce general arrangement (GA) drawings and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
- Collaborate with design, production, sales, procurement, and installation teams
- Manage technical and commercial aspects of each project, including timelines and budgets
- Provide support for special quotations and customer-specific solutions
- Drive improvements in shop floor efficiency through close liaison with production engineering
Project Engineer – Candidate Profile - Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Manager / CAD / Design / Applications Engineer
- HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or SolidEdge
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- A methodical and detail-focused approach to problem-solving
- Understanding of project management principles and techniques
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites when required
