We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter to join a professional and busy commercial vehicle workshop in Sheffield. This is a great opportunity to work with up-to-date tools and equipment, supporting a skilled team and maintaining a high standard of vehicle safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Service, maintain, and repair HGVs to DVSA and manufacturer standards
Carry out diagnostics and fault-finding using specialist equipment
Complete pre-MOT inspections and general compliance checks
Replace or repair key components such as brakes, clutches, and transmissions
Maintain accurate job cards and service records
Adhere to workshop health and safety policies
Work efficiently as part of a team and on your own
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Essential

Level 3 NVQ, VCQ, or SVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Previous experience in a busy HGV workshop environment
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of HGV systems including hydraulics and pneumatics
Desirable

HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
Experience with electronic diagnostic systems
Flexible and proactive work attitude
