The Capital Planning team is part of the broader Finance organisation. Capital Planning is responsible for the management of the capital of Aldermore Group, ensuring the Group is appropriately capitalised and capital is used efficiently within the Group.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Capital Manager to join the Capital Planning and Management team. It comprises of four people and the Director of Capital Management, who reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The team is responsible for the management of capital of Aldermore Group, including ensuring the Group is appropriately capitalised under both normal and stress scenarios, that the established capital structure is efficient, and that the Group's capital resources are utilised efficiently.

The Capital Planning Manager will be primarily responsible for supporting the capital planning and day to day capital management process at Aldermore.

The successful candidate will take the lead on a number of critical management processes, including capital allocation, capital impact assessment of new business proposals, capital and returns analysis of existing products, Capital Risk and Control Self Assessment ("RCSA"s) and capital elements underpinning recovery and resolution planning. This is a business facing role, which will require the candidate supporting the business areas and ensuring they understand their capital requirements, and actual and forecast capital usage. It requires extensive interaction with key stakeholders, including the Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) team, Finance Business Partners, Treasury, Risk and the Business. In addition, the candidate will support on wider capital initiatives, such as ICAAP, Stress testing, budgeting and forecasting and strategic reviews.

The Person

Strong analytical skills and experience
Track record of problem solving
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
Ability to confidently challenge peers and seniors across the organisation
Advanced knowledge of Excel
An understanding of retail / commercial banking
Financial planning experience
Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines Qualifications and professional memberships

A CFA, CIMA, ACCA or ACA - Desirable
