Step Down Domestic Abuse Support Worker

📍 Neath | 💼 Fixed Term (Sept 2025 - Mar 2026) | ⏰ 35 hours per week | 💷 £22,500 - £23,500

We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Step Down Support Specialist to provide trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic abuse whose risk has reduced to medium or low.

The Role

• Provide tailored one-to-one support and safety planning.
• Help survivors build confidence, independence, and long-term resilience.
• Work closely with IDVA services to ensure smooth transitions.
• Signpost individuals to housing, welfare, legal, counselling, training and other services.
• Keep accurate case records and contribute to ongoing risk assessments.

About You

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or working towards) in social care/health or relevant field.
• At least 2 years' experience supporting vulnerable adults, families, or young people.
• Strong knowledge of domestic abuse issues and safeguarding.
• Confident in multi-agency working, needs/risk assessments and support planning.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
