KS3 Tutor - Redcar

1:1 Tuition | PAYE | Monday-Friday (Full-time or Part-time hours)

New Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated and motivated Key Stage 3 (KS3) Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged learners across Redcar. This role focuses on supporting pupils in Years 7-9, helping them build strong foundations in core subjects and develop confidence in learning.

The Role

You will work with learners who may need additional support due to learning gaps, low confidence, SEN, anxiety, or time out of mainstream education. Using a supportive, structured approach, you will deliver personalised tuition aligned with the KS3 curriculum.

Sessions take place 1:1 in homes, libraries, learning hubs, or community settings.

Key Responsibilities as a KS3 Tutor

Deliver 1:1 KS3 tuition in English, Maths, and/or Science

*

Plan and adapt lessons in line with the UK secondary curriculum

*

Support subject knowledge, study skills, and learning confidence

*

Build positive, trusting relationships with learners

*

Monitor progress and provide feedback to families and professionals

*

Promote engagement, motivation, and independence

Essential Requirements

*

Experience teaching or tutoring KS3 learners (Years 7-9)

*

Strong knowledge of the UK secondary curriculum

*

Patient, calm, and encouraging approach

*

Ability to adapt teaching to different learning needs

*

Confident working independently

*

Right to work in the UK

Desirable (but not essential)

*

Experience supporting learners with SEN or SEMH needs

*

Teaching qualification or relevant tutoring experience

*

Experience delivering catch-up or intervention programmes
