Finance Manager

Our client a leading real estate investment, development and management company are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join their dynamic team.
This role involves working within one of their finance teams specialising in Student Housing and jointly overseeing the team. The right person will need to be able to demonstrate leading on the delivery of high-quality management accounts and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
This role does require a fully qualified Accountant.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the timely delivery of management accounts packs prepared by an external service provider.
- Overseeing team of Accountant alongside another Finance Manager focused within Student Housing.
- Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review consolidated and individual company annual statutory accounts.
- Prepare and review monthly variance comments and BvA reports.
- Engage in business partnering across various departments within the business.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and oversee the audit process while liaising with auditors.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and oversee the preparation of corporation tax returns and tax accounting.
- Review cash flow forecasts and develop finance process initiatives across the group to support business growth.
- Provide support for any finance-related queries within the business.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with ideally 3 years post-qualification and management experience.
- Real Estate/Property Investment & Management experience – student property will be highly desirable
- Good understanding of consolidations and preparation of consolidation journals.
- Proficient in both FRS102 and IFRS.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office packages, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of VAT and experience with partially exempt VAT.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
