Glencorse Care Home is a purpose built care home located in Penicuik, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 54 residents. With a strong focus on teamwork and high standards of care, the home offers a supportive environment where staff can develop their skills and make a meaningful difference every day.

Kitchen Assistant

  • £12.71 per hour
  • 35 hours per week
  • Pension, Paid PVG, Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

Role Overview
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and delivering high quality meals while maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment. Your role is essential in ensuring meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard, contributing to the overall wellbeing and daily experience of our residents.

You will assist with food preparation, receive and store deliveries, maintain cleanliness across all kitchen areas and ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are followed at all times. Working closely with the wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and safely.

What We Are Looking For

  •  Positive and reliable individual with a strong work ethic
  •  Good understanding of hygiene and food safety practices
  •  Strong attention to detail
  •  Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
  •  Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is desirable but not essential
