EduTalent Group are delighted to be recruiting for an SEN Teacher at a forward-thinking SEMH school in Sheerness. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team that supports and empowers young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, personalised learning that meets the diverse needs of students. You will work closely with the SENCO and wider pastoral and teaching teams to create a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment. Your work will focus on helping students develop essential academic, social, and emotional skills, enabling them to make meaningful progress and succeed within a supportive, trauma-informed setting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment grounded in empathy, structure, and respect

* Plan, resource, and deliver engaging, bespoke lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets and diverse learning styles

* Integrate sensory, practical, outdoor, and play-based approaches to boost motivation and access to learning

* Support the whole child, focusing on communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and personal development

* Participate in break/lunchtime supervision and wider school life, including extracurricular activities

* Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety policies

Requirements

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

*

Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or Autism

*

Strong understanding of inclusive, trauma-informed, and therapeutic teaching practices

*

A calm, flexible, and empathetic approach to behaviour and classroom management

*

Ability to deliver highly personalised learning for pupils with complex needs

*

Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills

*

ICT competence and ability to use digital tools to enhance learning

*

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

*

Ability to form and maintain appropriate professional boundaries

Desirable:

*

Experience in an SEN or alternative provision setting

*

Knowledge of sensory integration, outdoor learning, and creative therapeutic approaches

*

Experience supporting pupils with communication, emotional, or behavioural challenges

*

Passion for innovative, holistic educational practice

*

Experience contributing to extracurricular or enrichment activities
