Job Title: Plumber - HIU Technician (Inside IR35 - PAYE)

Expected Start Date: ASAP
Anticipated Duration / End Date: 12 months with a view to TTP
Expected Pay Rate: £35,000 - £45,000 (dependent on skills/experience)
Expenses: Client will provide vehicle & fuel card - WORK USE ONLY
Willingness to Travel: Essential (Winchester-25 mile radius)

Hours of Work

7.4 hours (36 mins lunch) = 8-hour day / 37 hours per week
Monday - Friday
1 in 4 call-out rotation with standby equating to £5.5k a year + any overtime that comes with on-call

Shift Patterns:
Start: 08:30am
Finish: 05:30pm

Inclusive: Asked to do half an hour of their own time travel there and half an hour of their own time home

Department Description / Job Purpose:

Complete residential and occasional commercial planned and reactive HIU related installation and maintenance activities
Balance of hands-on and managing appropriate resources for all mechanical, electrical issues impacting operational performance of the District Heating Network (DHN) and communal heating schemes throughout Southwest London (and UK areas if required).

Scope of Decision Making:

Understand operational practices and procedures; diagnose problems by evaluating info/data to draw conclusions and make decisions
Working knowledge of intermediate level PC-based systems and maintenance/information management systems
Build professional relationships with internal and external colleagues
Communicate effectively

Facts & Figures:

Operational and maintenance work on ~40+ DHN sites (and growing), large variety of HIUs, Heat Pumps, AMR, Metering, and other technologies
District Heating market is growing rapidly
Great opportunity for personal development on DHNs, HIUs, Heat Pump Technology
Primarily domestic with aspects of commercial work
Opportunities to progress and learn new skills internally with training support

Scope of Influence:

Reports directly to HIU Team Manager and takes instruction from Lead HIU Engineer

Development in Role:

Internal training on HIUs/Heat Pumps and DHNs
Development of people, processes, communication skills
Ideal for applicants with core plumbing and heating knowledge seeking development into DHN/HIUs/Heat PumpsMain Responsibilities

HIU Installation and Maintenance activities
Servicing
Breakdowns
Upgrades
Installation
Commissioning
General Plumbing and Heating work (HVAC)
Follow correct working processes and capture accurate visit information
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and PPE requirements
Meet performance measures and KPIs set by team leader/manager
Support other teams delivering services to CES customersExperience and Qualifications

Key Skill Requirements:

NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent with significant expertise in general plumbing, heating, mechanical essential; basic electrical advantageous
Valid Driving License (mobile technician required)
Domestic gas boiler experience with relevant gas safety registration is an advantage but not necessary
HIU and DHN experience is an advantage
Ability to innovate and challenge existing processes to improve efficiency
Willingness to develop site by seeking best practices to improve operational and commercial performance
Capability and willingness to achieve the clients's required competency levels - Safe System of Work (SSOW), Contractor Safety and Engagement (CSE)
Competent in understanding risk assessments, procedures, and processes
IT skills, computers
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsSafety System of Work Skills:

Ability to form effective working relationships with site and external staff at all levels
Ability to prioritise effectively and consistently deliver against tight time constraints
