About the Continuous Improvement Engineer Role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead and deliver initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimise processes across manufacturing operations. You will support both current production and new product development, ensuring that processes are robust, efficient and aligned with stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities of Continuous Improvement Engineer

Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies such as Kaizen, SMED, Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping
Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to achieve best‑in‑class quality and efficiency
Drive defect prevention through robust process controls and error‑proofing solutions
Support New Product Development activities from concept through to launch
Specify and validate equipment, tooling and fixtures to meet production requirements
Lead cost‑reduction initiatives through process optimisation and value engineering
Prepare and justify capital expenditure requests, including cost analysis and ROI
Support capital projects and contribute to CapEx planning and execution

Candidate Profile

HND or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial preferred)
Experience in high‑volume manufacturing, ideally automotive or similar
Practical experience with Lean tools and structured problem‑solving methodologies
Knowledge of automated assembly systems, tooling and test equipment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is advantageous
Experience with CapEx projects or capital investment planning is beneficial

You will be adaptable, disciplined and ambitious, with strong communication skills. You will thrive in a fast‑paced environment and bring a positive, results‑driven approach to problem solving and process improvement.

Salary and Benefits

Up to £55,000
Annual bonus (non‑contractual and reviewed annually)
Pension with matched contributions up to 7%
