Tradewind Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Brent, who are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their dynamic team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for supporting young people who have been excluded from mainstream education, and who may display challenging behaviour linked to social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Location: Brent, North West London
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £90 - £120 per day

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students on both a one-to-one and small group basis. You will work closely with teaching staff, the SENCo, and external agencies to promote positive behaviour strategies and re-engage students in learning. The ideal candidate will have a calm, patient and adaptable approach, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations and build trusting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students in managing their behaviour and developing emotional regulation strategies
Implementing individual behaviour plans and contributing to intervention strategies
Assisting in the delivery of tailored learning activities, both in and out of the classroom
Acting as a positive role model and mentor for vulnerable pupils
Liaising with families, staff, and external agencies where necessaryThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working in a PRU, alternative provision or with students with SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A genuine interest in supporting young people to reach their potential
The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to situations with empathy and consistency
