Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, teach, and deliver exciting and interactive lessons in accordance with the Year 2 National Curriculum, with a focus on building a strong academic foundation and developing key skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

* Use a variety of assessment strategies to track pupil progress, providing feedback to support continued development and help prepare students for their transition into Key Stage 2.

* Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where students feel motivated and supported to succeed.

* Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of the curriculum across the school.

* Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, regularly updating them on their child's progress and well-being.

* Contribute to school life through involvement in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development.

Person Specification:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

* Strong knowledge and understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, with experience in teaching and assessing students in this key stage.

* Proven ability to use assessment data to track student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.

* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and focused learning environment.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

* A passion for teaching and a commitment to professional growth and student success.
