Based in Colchester, this well-established business is growing its engineering team and is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing innovation and product development.

With a strong presence in defence-related manufacturing, the company offers the opportunity to work on technically advanced products that meet rigorous industry standards.

Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the full design lifecycle-delivering high-quality mechanical solutions that meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

Develop and design new mechanical products in accordance with customer and project specifications

Create precise 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for manufacturing

Present project updates in regular engineering review meetings

Produce technical documentation including FMEAs, risk analyses, and technical specifications

Maintain compliance with quality control procedures and industry regulations

What We're Looking For:

Minimum of 4 years' experience in a mechanical or HVAC engineering role

Strong experience with 3D CAD software

Proven track record in product development and project execution

Understanding of software/programming is a bonus, though not essential

HNC or Degree in Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
