Careers at the Applied Research Laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University Enterprise Systems Developer WE Are Searching for an Enterprise Systems Developer at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University to support ongoing enterprise systems research by engaging with Department of Defense (DoD) customers to understand current business processes and current technology trends, then, recommending process improvement paths to help inform digital transformation efforts. What YOU Will Do You will:
• Design, develop, test, and demonstrate new business applications and solutions
• Test and evaluate software tools and architectures, perform technology trade studies, and recommend transition strategies
• Maintain competency and awareness in emerging software system design and implementation
• Document and present research findings to customers
• Define new project concepts
• Contribute to proposals What YOU Need to be Successful Education: A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Information Technology, Information Sciences Technology, Software Engineering, or Programming plus two years of related experience. Preferred experience areas:
• Development experience with a focus on user experience design
• Gathering and developing requirements based on our customer's operational needs
• Business application development experience in maintenance, logistics, or supply chain systems Required experience/skills:
• Software development
• Front End/User Interface development
• Familiarity with one or more object-oriented programming languages
• Demonstrated success in the prototyping and transition of new business applications in an operational environment
• Ability to collaborate with Research and Development Engineers to develop proof of concept software systems You will be subject to a government security investigation, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
