Impact Staffing is recruiting a Controls Programmer for a well-established food manufacturer in Tucker, GA. This direct hire opportunity offers a competitive salary of $95,000-$115,000, primarily day shift schedule with flexibility for off shift hours as needed, and the chance to make a significant impact in a plant-critical role.

As Controls Programmer, you'll take direct ownership of automation and control systems, with accountability for the reliability, programming, and maintenance of PLC systems, SCADA networks, and facility automation infrastructure. You'll be the technical expert the facility depends on to keep production running smoothly and prevent system failures before they happen.

Job Duties:

Automation & PLC Systems

  • Develop, modify, and test code for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems
  • Analyze, diagnose, and repair all PLC programs and maintain backups to prevent catastrophic failures
  • Troubleshoot and differentiate between mechanical failures and programming issues

SCADA & Network Infrastructure

  • Program and maintain SCADA network using FactoryTalk Historian
  • Network data communications to SCADA VLan for process control and automation data on production machinery
  • Maintain computer IP network for production equipment and facility data collection

Electrical & HVAC Systems

  • Analyze, diagnose, and repair electrical problems with facility equipment
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions; support line and maintenance technicians with troubleshooting
  • Maintain all current electrical systems and provide expert guidance to management on potential failure points
  • Review and update electrical schematics

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with engineering, project managers, and end-users to recommend control system requirements and specifications
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and offer automation solutions
  • Ensure all processes meet food safety program requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
