Are you a passionate and resilient Science Teacher looking to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and inspiring Science Teacher to join a brand-new specialist SEN school in Swale, which opened its doors this academic year. This is a rare chance to be part of a pioneering team from the beginning, shaping the school's culture, values, and provision.

About the School:

The school is a newly established setting for pupils aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often alongside Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other associated learning differences. Many of our pupils will have experienced disrupted educational journeys and will need a supportive, nurturing, and structured environment to re-engage with learning.

In its initial phase, the school will welcome approximately 48 pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role:

We are seeking a Science Teacher with:

A deep understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASD

A commitment to trauma-informed, relational practice

The creativity and flexibility to adapt the science curriculum to meet a range of needs and learning styles

The drive to support pupils in building both academic knowledge and self-confidence

Strong behaviour management, underpinned by empathy and consistency

You will be part of a close-knit, ambitious team dedicated to fostering emotional well-being and academic progress in equal measure.

What We Offer:

A unique opportunity to shape the Science department from the ground up

A supportive senior leadership team and inclusive school ethos

Continuous professional development tailored to your role and interests

A genuine chance to change lives and be part of a life-changing journey for our pupils

Who We're Looking For:

A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with experience in SEMH or alternative provisions

Someone with a resilient, compassionate, and team-focused mindset

An individual who sees beyond behaviour and believes in the potential of every child

If you are motivated by challenge, inspired by potential, and committed to inclusive education, we'd love to hear from you.
