SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Barnet Long Term Futures are working with a warm and inclusive SEND school in Barnet to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a September 2025 start.
This is a mainstream setting with an exceptional SEN department and a strong culture of inclusion. The team is experienced, well-organised, and committed to providing personalised support for students with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and mild to moderate learning difficulties.
This role would suit someone with a nurturing approach, a good understanding of additional needs, and a genuine passion for helping students reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs across KS3 and KS4* Adapt resources and lessons to meet individual student needs* Work closely with the SENCo, teaching staff and external professionals to implement EHCPs* Support in-class participation and help develop independence* Track and report on student progress and engagement
Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Previous experience supporting secondary students with SEN* Strong understanding of autism and learning support strategies* A patient, adaptable and resilient mindset* Team-focused, with great communication skills* Background in education, youth work or support settings
Location and Transport - Barnet, North London* Easily accessible via High Barnet, New Barnet and Totteridge & Whetstone stations* Bus routes: 107, 263, 307, 326* On-site staff parking available
