Teaching Assistant - Bootle (Secondary ASD Support - Science Department)

Exclusive Education is currently seeking a dedicated and patient Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis within a Secondary School in the Bootle area of Liverpool. This role will involve supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within the Science department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience working with students with additional needs and is passionate about supporting their academic and personal development in a structured secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary students with ASD within Science lessons
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging with practical and theory-based Science activities
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement tailored support strategies
• Help manage behaviour and support students with social and communication needs
• Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and practical equipment
• Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and SEN staff
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:
• Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 2 or above) - desirable but not essential
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Experience working with children within the last 2 years
• Experience supporting students with ASD or additional needs - highly desirable
• An understanding of how to support students with social, emotional, and communication needs
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Two professional references relating to work with children
• A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
