Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Derby to recruit a motivated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time position for the academic year, with the possibility of extension.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of subjects. This role involves both one-to-one and small group work, helping pupils stay engaged, understand lesson content, and reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students in class, ensuring they stay focused and on task

Provide targeted help to individuals or small groups as directed by teaching staff

Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources

Promote a positive learning environment and encourage student participation

Support teaching staff with behaviour management and classroom organisation

Requirements:

Experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting

A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learning

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Willingness to work across different subjects and year groups

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
