We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Autism Support Assistant to work with KS2 pupils in a specialist primary SEN setting in L6. This role involves supporting children with autism and learning difficulties, helping them to access learning and develop essential social and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored support to KS2 pupils with autism and learning difficulties, both 1:1 and in small groups.

*
Implement strategies to promote engagement, communication, and independence.

*
Support behaviour management and encourage positive routines.

*
Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to adapt learning materials and interventions.

*
Build nurturing relationships that foster confidence and resilience.

Essential Skills & Experience

*
Experience supporting children with autism and learning difficulties in school or specialist settings.

*
Behaviour management skills and ability to implement structured interventions.

*
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.

*
Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting pupils with complex needs.
