Cleaning Operative/Street Cleaner

£14 - £16 P/H

Contract - 3 Months

The Role:

• To undertake cleaning operative/street cleaner duties specified below in the following areas of the Council's estates and highways:
• Corridors, utility rooms, balconies and pedways, entrances and lobbies, refuse stores, lifts/stairs and landings, store rooms, external areas and other areas and accommodation that might exist.
• Cleaning duties using appropriate equipment and materials, to include:
• Sweeping of hard floors and walkways, damp and wet mopping of hard floors and walkways.
• Sweeping of external areas e.g. pathways/pavement/channels and courtyards.
• Scrubbing of internal and external hard floors, walkways and other areas as might be directed.
• Wall wash, high cleaning of walls, associated furniture, fixtures, fittings and internal window cleaning.
• Collection and removal of bulk/bagged refuse from all areas on the estate.
• Emptying of external litter bins and rotation of paladin refuse stores.
• Litter picking/leaf clearing/snow clearing.
• Cleaning of major spillage, soilage and other deposits.

The Candidate:

• Previous experience in a similar cleaning role is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices
