Procurement Analyst

2 year temporary contract

Clydach, Swansea

£13.84 per hour / FTE salary £27,000

We are recruiting for a Procurement Analyst on a 2-year contract who will report directly into the Procurement Inbound Logistics Manager.

The key accountabilities of the Procurement Analyst will be as follows:

· Responsible for Purchase orders / contracts, commercial analysis, negotiation, award of changes and commercial closeout

· Developing, in conjunction with the Procurement Manager, project management, procurement cost down initiatives/strategies related to the Procurement Inbound Logistics functions

· Align processes with the companies Procurement Standards to effectively safeguard and control company assets, whilst also ensuring compliance standards are constantly maintained.

Key duties will include:

· Conduct a pre-qualification process of prospective bidders. Prepare and obtain approval of bidder lists.

· Establish and implement project-specific procurement strategies and cost down initiatives that seek to remove non-added value from within the business operations.

· Prepare and launch the Requests for Proposals.

· Receive tenders, proceed with the commercial analysis and manage internal and external communication.

· Arrange explanation / clarification meetings / visits.

· Conduct commercial evaluation and formulate the overall evaluation with technical input.

· Ensure that all awards are drafted to incorporate supplier / contractor obligations to owner and mitigation of risk (Financial, Commercial and Compliance) as much as possible.

· Attend and lead negotiations with selected bidders before award, and draft the recommendation for award.

· Process and issue purchase orders / contracts.

· Prepare and issue contract documents for signature with the input from other project functions.

· Conduct handover meetings ensuring that all team members are conversant with owner and Supplier/contractor obligations as stipulated in the award.

· Ensure the assembly and maintenance of records for the purpose of administering purchase orders/contracts. · Strictly control modifications to the orders/contracts, negotiating requests for modifications, claims and litigation, if necessary.

· Commercial closeout of order/contract.

· Issue and close the purchase order (PO) in the ERP system

· Provide timely and effective communication of issues to the Procurement Manager.

· Manage key suppliers in the region and develop the business relationship for specific products/services.

· Investigate and analyse areas of non-added value; develop appropriate strategies to effectively remove deficiencies, whilst striving to enhance the business areas: overall operating efficiency and effectiveness and not least economy.

The successful candidate will have sufficient experience of working in a procurement role and able to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills and must be self-motivated. Experience of using SAP would also be a strong advantage
