Heavy Duty Fitter - Wash Plant

Pay: £20.00 - £25.00 per hour

CareerMakers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Fitter on behalf of our client based in Kirkby.

This is a hands-on role supporting site operations and maintaining heavy plant machinery and aggregate wash plant systems. It is ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a proactive approach to maintenance and uptime.
Working Hours
⦁ Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
⦁ Saturday: 7:00am - 1:00pm (when required)
⦁ Additional overtime available when necessary
⦁ Expected hours: 47.5 - 60 per week

Key Duties & Responsibilities
⦁ Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy plant machinery including excavators, loading shovels, screeners and crushers
⦁ Service and maintain aggregate wash plant systems
⦁ Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
⦁ Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
⦁ Monitor plant performance and ensure operational efficiency
⦁ Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports and maintenance logs
⦁ Work collaboratively with plant operators, fitters and management
⦁ Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with health and safety regulations

Requirements
⦁ Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
⦁ Previous experience maintaining heavy plant machinery
⦁ Experience with aggregate wash plant maintenance highly desirable
⦁ Good understanding of health & safety within an industrial environment
⦁ Basic computer literacy for reporting and record keeping
⦁ Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team
⦁ Must be able to commute to the Kirkby site (L33 area)
⦁ Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required
