Job description

Jackson Hogg are looking for an experienced Engineering & Technical manager on behalf of one of our expanding clients within the manufacturing industry. You would be responsible for the execution of engineering requirements that are required within the business, such as Research, designs, implementation, product development, testing, manufacturing, innovation, new process introduction, planning and coordination of projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Managing the Engineering / Technical Team assigning tasks to necessary. Providing leadership direction and coaching to ensure that the team are engaged, focused, and developed to their full potential.

· Demonstrate an understanding of the engineering process within the Production Line.

· Leadership of the process improvements and effectively find solutions to utilise equipment and materials to ensure maximum output of final product.

· Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and design of products. That will lead to reduced waste and a reduction of cost of poor quality (COPQ).

· Create and oversee project budgets and engage in beneficial cost management strategies to support the overall running and profitability of the business.

· Assures that all process meets both quality and Health and Safety compliance.

· Collaborates with other managers and departments to ensure smooth operation of the business.

· Complete production engineering requirements at a project level.

· Mange the diagnosis of problems within the production line finding the root causes and deliver resolutions.

· Evaluating current production activities and manage the requirements for finding recommendations for improvements.

· Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.

· Lead the tender process for equipment to ensure the best quality for the best price.

· Undertake specialist projects as required.

· Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practice/designs and future trends.

· Preform root cause analysis and resolve problems.

· Compliance with all H&S rules and standards in the ledger.

· Quality system management (ISO 9001:2015).

Experience/Skills Required:

· Relevant bachelor's or master's degree in manufacturing/engineering.

· Vast amount of welding and fabricating experience.

· Experience in Monopile or the Wind Turbine industry would be advantageous.

· Proven Experience in a manufacturing managerial role, leading and managing a team.

· Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information and solving complex problems that may arise.

· Strong leadership, mentoring and team building skills.

· Organised to ensure budgets, employees, schedules are simultaneously tracked.

· Engineering Qualification / Certifications etc. (A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds Level 3, BTec National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technical Diploma, or equivalent NVQ Level 3 Qualification)
