Are you a calm, resilient, and empathetic professional looking to make a real difference in young people's lives? We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Telford, seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who may have faced challenges in mainstream education and require additional behavioural, emotional, and academic support to thrive.

Location: Telford

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (potential for permanent)

Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours

Salary: Competitive daily rate (depending on experience)

This is a supportive and well-structured alternative provision setting catering for primary and secondary-aged pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school. The setting offers:

Small class sizes with high staff-to-student ratios

A strong emphasis on pastoral care, behaviour support, and emotional literacy

A team-focused environment with ongoing training and development

Clear structures, positive behaviour models, and strong safeguarding protocols

🧩 Responsibilities:

*

Supporting students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis

*

Working closely with class teachers, behaviour mentors, and external agencies

*

Helping students regulate behaviour and re-engage with learning

*

Assisting with the delivery of lessons and personalised learning plans

*

Modelling positive interactions and promoting emotional resilience

✅ Ideal Candidate:

*

Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or youth support

*

Confident in managing challenging behaviour calmly and professionally

*

Patient, nurturing, and non-judgemental

*

Strong communication and teamwork skills

*

A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education

*

Team Teach or similar behaviour training is desirable (but training can be provided)
