Maintenance Technician - Port Talbot - Up to £45k DOE plus excellent benefits

Our client a leading manufacturer of Nutritional Supplements is looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician for their prestigious site based in Port Talbot. The Maintenance Technician will play an integral role in monitoring and maintaining the Fermentation Plant.

Salary: Up to £45k DOE plus shift allowance plus excellent benefits.

Location: Port Talbot

Working Hours: Days and Afternoons, 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm alternating weekly.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

* Monitoring Steam, including boilers and system operation, components and controls.

* Maintaining compressed air and associated systems.

* Maintaining fluid systems and controls.

* HVAC, humidity control systems.

* Handling liquid nitrogen and industrial gases.

* Maintaining and replacing pumps.

* Maintaining and replacing Valves (including pneumatic, manual and modulating).

* Monitoring and maintaining chemical dosing systems - chemical safety

* Monitoring pressure vessels, chilled water and vacuum systems/pumps.

The successful candidate:

* Ability to understand and manipulate systems based upon the P&IDs.

* Ability to modify and set up controllers and system control parameters.

* Experienced with Safe systems of work, especially system isolation.

* Confined spaces experience would be an advantage.

* IOSH - managing safely - beneficial.

* Served a Mechanical apprenticeship.

* Welding/soldering/grinding/hot works experience would be an advantage but not essential.
