Location: Watford – Office based

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Assistant to support our Credit Control operations. This role is ideal for someone currently studying AAT, a finance-related degree, or CICM, who is eager to take on responsibility and grow their career within a large, reputable organisation.

You’ll play a key part in helping manage customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining the financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer accounts, including outstanding invoices and payment terms.
  • Review customer credit limits and payment history.
  • Assist in setting up new customer accounts and updating existing records.

Invoice Processing

  • Process and issue invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and liaise with customers to secure timely payments.

Payment Reconciliation

  • Reconcile incoming payments with outstanding invoices.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.

Debt Recovery

  • Assist in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior credit control staff when necessary.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare reports on outstanding debt, aged receivables, and other credit control metrics.
  • Analyse data to spot trends and identify areas for improvement.

Additional Duties

  • Support the credit control team with ad-hoc administrative and financial tasks.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Be flexible with responsibilities as business needs evolve.
