We are working with a welcoming and inclusive school in North Manchester that supports pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), many of whom experience behavioural and emotional challenges. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team.

About the Role

In this role, you will support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them manage behaviour, engage with learning, and develop positive coping strategies.

This is a highly rewarding position suited to someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to supporting young people who may need additional guidance to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students with SEN and behavioural needs in and out of the classroom
  • Building strong, positive relationships to promote trust and engagement
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • Encouraging emotional regulation and social development
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Helping to maintain a structured and supportive learning environment
Who We’re Looking For

Transferable experience may include:

  • Youth work or mentoring
  • Care, support work, or residential settings
  • Sports coaching or team leadership
