CNC Milling Machinist Setter Operator - Uxbridge, UK

We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist Setter Operator to join a leading UK manufacturing team specializing in high-performance and high-pressure valve systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, precision engineering environment with a company recognized globally for innovation and quality.

Role Overview:
As a CNC Setter Operator, you will set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centres to produce precision components to exacting standards. The role demands strong machining expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Rate - £20 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

* Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centres, including pallet changers and multi-axis machines (experience with Matsuura is a plus).

* Load programs, set tool offsets, datums, and verify machine readiness before production.

* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation.

* Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.

* Produce parts to tight tolerances using various materials.

* Apply precision measurement and inspection techniques.

* Edit programs, make offset adjustments, and change tools as needed.

* Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining or quality issues.

* Conduct routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S).

* Adhere to all safety, quality, and company procedures.

Skills and Competencies:

* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

* Proficiency in precision measurement and inspection techniques.

* Excellent time management and organizational skills.

* Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.

* Proven experience setting and operating multi-axis machining centres.

* Ability to edit programs and make adjustments; programming knowledge is a plus.
