About the Role: Reed education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Cambridge. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the pupil with classwork as set out by the class teacher.
• Ensuring the pupil remains on task and engaged with their learning activities.
• Supporting the pupil's behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
• Liaising with the SENCO and class teacher to develop and implement a tailored educational plan.
• Accompanying the pupil to the sensory room during periods of overwhelm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent and individualized support to the pupil.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure the pupil's educational needs are met.
• Monitor and report on the pupil's progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one 
• Uk address and right to work
