MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to join a large housing association based in London.

This is a permanent role, rather than fixed term and hours are 18.75 and working at the end of week. Wed, Thurs, and Friday (there can be flexibility how these days work in terms of hours) the annual salary is pro rata.

As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for managing and coordinating excellent housing and estate services within a defined geographical patch. Act as customer facing representative across all tenures including rented, shared ownership and leasehold customers. Manage the relationship and increase the business reputation with defined local authority partners and other external agencies.

* Responsible and accountable to residents for providing an excellent, empathetic and personal housing management service
* Manage a caseload of residents, assess, and resolve a wide range of complex enquiries in accordance with established processes and procedures. This includes permissions, licences, sub-lettings, assignments, tenancy visits, tenancy checks and general queries
* Carry out any home visits, site visits, or office appointments to meet residents
* Provide advice, support, and information to customers on leasehold, tenant service charges & tenancy conditions.
* Ensure effective tenancy management through timely fixed term tenancy reviews, mutual exchange requests, successions and assignments and end of tenancy inspections.
* Work alongside residents to ensure the right support is offered in order for them to sustain their tenancies
* Manage void properties to be ready to let out to the organisations 'void standard' as quickly as possible
* Develop and maintain local multi-agency links for the benefit of customers and the business
* Understand the frameworks in place to support customers at risk and use these effectively.
* Develop and maintain local relationships with key local stakeholders, and respond to enquiries from MPs, Councillors and other stakeholders relating to local issues.
* Feedback and engagement with customers on areas such as changes to Service Charges, Planned Works, Service Delivery
* Lead for tenant and resident associations and any other estate or block resident forum, coordinating the input and performance of other internal and external performance areas to deliver a satisfactory outcome
* Take the lead on managing the local environment, working with customers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the environment meets service standards and customer expectations.
* Accountable for regular estate inspections and regular monitoring of service contracts including cleaning and grounds maintenance, acting to drive up standards of our partner contractors.
* Report and monitor communal repairs reported during an estate inspection, escalating as necessary.
* Manage complex tenancy and lease related issues, including succession, mutual exchange, assignment of tenancies.
* Take the lead on managing ASB cases in your assigned area, drawing in the support of the specialist Tenancy Enforcement team where needed.

Person Specification:
* Previous experience of working as a Housing Officer or Tenancy Officer
* Well-developed communication skills both written & verbal
* Experience of managing Leasehold & shared ownership tenures
* Knowledge of all housing and anti-social behaviour related legislation, including service charges
* Able to build and sustain working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders (residents, local authorities, other service providers) - Collaborative and partnership working
* A proven record of delivering excellent customer focused services.
* A record of achievement in making a difference.
* Good planning, organising and prioritisation skills
