We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a rural primary school near Carnforth. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced in working with mixed age year groups within either Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2). The successful candidate will be appointed based on their strengths in a particular area, so please specify your preference of key stage on your application and any other attributes you may bring to the role. 

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assist in the delivery of daily lessons and educational activities within KS1 or KS2, depending on your area of strength.
  • Support the classroom teacher in managing a classroom of mixed age groups, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Engage with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
  • Assist in preparing materials and equipment for lessons, ensuring they are suitable for the age and abilities of the students.
  • Monitor and support the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers on their development.
  • Help maintain discipline in the classroom and adhere to the school’s policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting, preferably across mixed age groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the Christian values of the school.
  • A proactive approach to student learning and classroom support.
