We are seeking an SEMH Support Worker to join a supportive school in Reading, dedicated to nurturing and enhancing the educational experience of students with complex needs. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of young children, particularly those with Mental Health, Trauma and behavioural challenges.
Day-to-day of the role: - Provide direct support to students in the classroom, assisting them with their daily tasks and educational activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher to prepare learning materials and lessons, ensuring they are tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and support to encourage their development.
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the educational and emotional needs of all students.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals to implement effective strategies and interventions for students with special educational needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with autism, is highly desirable.
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient disposition, keen to support and inspire students.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with students, staff, and parents.
- A strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and their application in an educational setting.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and professional development.
