About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Multi-Skills Lecturer to join our Construction team. You will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of construction trades—typically at Levels 1 and 2—to learners aged 16+ and adult learners. The successful candidate will inspire and support students to progress into employment or further study, contributing to the development of the college's construction provision.

Key Responsibilities

*

Plan and deliver outstanding lessons in a range of construction trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying, painting & decorating)

*

Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment strategies in line with awarding body and college requirements

*

Provide assessment, feedback, and support to learners to ensure progress and achievement

*

Monitor learner progress, complete ILPs (Individual Learning Plans), and maintain accurate records

*

Embed English, maths, digital skills, and employability into all learning sessions

*

Contribute to curriculum development, employer engagement, and quality improvement processes

*

Participate in standardisation and moderation meetings

*

Support safeguarding and promote the welfare of all learners

Essential Criteria

*

Relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a construction-related discipline

*

Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or willingness to work towards

*

Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, TAQA) or willingness to gain one

*

Recent industry experience and/or experience of delivering construction skills in an FE or training environment

*

Strong communication and organisational skills

*

Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting high learner achievement

Desirable Criteria

*

Internal Quality Assurance qualification (IQA)

*

Experience working with young people or adults from diverse backgrounds

*

Knowledge of current FE curriculum frameworks and funding rules

*

Experience embedding functional skills and employability in vocational delivery
