Cost and Bonus Surveyor - Castle Donnington

My 5*, privately owned new build housing developer have an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost and Bonus Surveyor to join its Commercial Team.

Reporting to the Cost and Bonus Manager, we are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work with our site management teams and trade workforce to ensure accurate measuring and recording of completed works and payment processing.

This busy role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and numeracy skills alongside a strong construction background. The ideal candidate would be from a Quantity Surveying background with a HNC qualification, but the role may also be suited to those with site management and/or trade experience who are looking to transfer.

Key responsibilities include:

* Site timesheets - Visiting sites to validate value of completed contract works, and agreement of variations with Site Manager and Trades.

* Processing of timesheets - Inputting timesheets into payroll system and reconcile final figures.

* Estimating - Preparing take off's for direct trade packages including assessment of individual rates applied within price build ups.

* Piecework prices - Utilise take offs and rates to create trade piecework rates for trade employees. Assess validity of piecework rates and input to eradicate anomalies.

* Cost management - Undertake a monthly review of overspends and provide detail on the budget variances.

* Budget set up - Provide input to wider commercial team for site commencement budget process.

Key skills and competencies:

* Good construction knowledge across all trades and works

* Ability to understand and read construction drawings

* Good communication skills to liaise with both site and office employees

* Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills

* Strong commercial awareness to identify and improve working practices and efficiencies on site.

* Good numerical skills

* Good IT skills including Excel and Word.

* Driving license essential
