An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and proactive Speech and Language Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties.

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by empowering pupils to develop communication, independence, and access to learning in school.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of pupils with complex communication needs, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering communication and functional language assessments and interventions
  • Managing a diverse caseload of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties
  • Producing detailed clinical reports for EHCPs and Annual Reviews
  • Embedding therapeutic strategies into the curriculum alongside teachers and support staff
  • Providing training and workshops for school staff on specialist communication approaches
About You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in working within a school or similar setting
  • Passionate about supporting children with autism and complex needs
  • Empathetic, adaptable, and creative in their approach
  • A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registration with HCPC and membership of RCSLT
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or severe learning difficulties
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience contributing to EHCPs or multidisciplinary reviews
