As a support officer in the Information Security team you will help ensure that ongoing processes are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation and support security practices that protect thousands of our clients, supporters and staff.
You will be the first point of contact for data subjects who wish to understand or exercise their rights as well as members of staff seeking guidance. Your responsibilities will include advising on and supporting these requests, maintaining accurate records of our responses and providing administrative support to the Information Security Coordinator, who is St Mungo's Data Protection Officer. Your other responsibilities will include delivering training across the organisation, investigating potential breaches and producing reports when required.
To succeed, you will need a strong awareness of Data Protection principles and Data Subject Rights, along with the ability to clearly articulate and promote them internally and externally. Excellent customer service skills are equally important. You will have strong IT skills and be confident describing technical concerns in accessible terms. The ability to quickly learn and understand the implications of new guidance from regulators and legal developments will also be an asset in this rapidly changing field.
