Our Client, Tameside Council is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join its AMHP Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • To respond to emergency referrals which arise out of office hours.
  • To conduct assessments on vulnerable adults and provide a service when it is indicated that without the provision of a service, they would suffer significant harm or hardship.
  • To attend on occasion at the Custody Suite to act as an "Appropriate adult".
  • To provide or set up emergency or temporary residential placement.
  • To identify and consult with the nearest relative of the service user, as defined by legislation. Advise the service user of his/ her legal right of appeal, and the right of the nearest relative to request the discharge of the service user.
  • To interview the service user in an appropriate manner as defined by legislation, to undertake a full risk assessment which will inform the decision-making process for an application for detention.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
