A welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Southwark is seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 (KS1) Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2025. This opportunity is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding learning in Key Stage 1.

Role Responsibilities:

*

Deliver consistently high-quality teaching to a KS1 class (Year 1 or Year 2, depending on school needs).

*

Plan, differentiate and deliver lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and school-wide approaches to phonics, early reading and mastery.

*

Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel safe, supported and inspired to achieve.

*

Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform future planning.

*

Build strong working relationships with colleagues, pupils, parents and external professionals.

*

Participate fully in school life, including CPD, staff meetings and wider school activities.

Candidate Requirements:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.

*

Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and effective classroom practice.

*

Experience with systematic phonics programmes (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or similar) is desirable.

*

Proven (or developing) ability to support all learners, including those with additional needs or EAL.

*

Excellent classroom management, planning and organisational skills.

*

A reflective, proactive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.

*

Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting the welfare of children.
