To ensure that warehouse and yard space, inbound and outbound shipments and transportation resources/activities support the required flow of material and finished product. Responsible for the plant’s flow planning, storage plan, trailer pool and waste stream strategy. In addition, the position will provide support and primary back-up coverage for Warehouse Management System (WMS) support, Warehouse product quality systems and mill customer service.




Key customers include Operations, Distribution, Material Handling, Deployment, Transportation, Quality, Customer Service, Planning and 3PL Warehousing. Extensive contact with customers within and outside of the facility requires in-depth knowledge of inventory, production and shipments to maximize service while minimizing transportation and manufacturing costs. Timely and accurate communication across multiple functions required to ensure consistent and efficient flow of inventory.




This position reports to the Logistics & Finance Manager and is responsible for the on-going space management and flow of both finished product and raw material/finishing supply inventory of Neenah Cold Spring Facility. This includes the raw material and finishing supply inventory analysis and replenishment plan between off-site overflow storage and the mill. The work demands an in-depth knowledge of the corporation’s and facility’s affected transportation and flow planning in addition to inventory control and Warehouse Management System (WMS) for back-up purposes. Duties involve knowledge of desktop and mainframe computer systems including SAP and WMS in addition to transportation policies. Due to the nature of the work and NCSF being a 24/7 production facility, the individual must maintain a high degree of flexibility. This job function entails a significant amount of contact with mill personnel and outside businesses in a coordinating or informational capacity. Therefore, the incumbent must possess the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise, tactful and courteous manner.




•             Bachelor’s degree

•             Knowledgeable of Mill Operations, Distribution/Warehouse Operations, Transportation, Inventory Management, Production Reporting and WMS and SAP inventory transactions

•             Must be able to effectively prioritize and make decisions under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced mill environment

•             Must possess a high degree of human relations skills and be able to communicate effectively




•             Inbound Volume of ~7,000 truck unloads per year

•             Outbound Volume of ~12,500 Finished Product truckloads per year


Coordinate overall internal and external storage space for NCSF finished product and materials in order to ensure production assets are not constrained and shipments flow.


Develop and lead mill Flow Planning activities including shuttles to/from overflow storage, spacemakers and downstream transfers. This includes the analysis of material inventory levels between the mill and offsite overflow storage and collaboration with Planning on what/when/how much to store offsite.


Monitor and control trailer pools to ensure equipment availability and effective utilization. Contribute to the development of future yard plans and needs. Manage detention with carriers to be within targets and collaborate with appropriate teams as needed (CTT, staff).


Drive to the goal of zero landfill by working with Environmental team on waste stream initiatives.


Ensure shipments are loaded on time through management of trailer pools, yard inventory and yard jockey management.


Provide support and backup coverage for Distribution Specialist including WMS Coordination, Inventory Control and Mill Customer Service.


Coordinate the shipment of hazardous material. Must attend certification training every two years.


Lead mill guard shack procedures and trailer flow through collaboration with Security team.
