JOB- CAD/CAM Technician

LOCATION- Slough

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client is a specialist metal manufacturer. They are looking for a CAD/CAM Technician to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in both the design and manufacturing programming aspects of precision-engineered components.

The CAD/CAM Technician will ideally have the following attributes:

A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (HNC, HND, BEng, etc.)
Strong experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, welding, machining and similar materials
Experience with CAM software for CNC programming (EdgeCAM, Mastercam, or similar)
Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining and fabrication
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team 

The CAD/CAM Technician role will involve:

Producing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturing
Creating and optimising CNC programs using CAM software for milling and turning machines
Liaising with the production team to ensure designs and programs are manufacturable
Assisting with tooling selection and process planning
Reviewing and updating engineering documentation and BOMs
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing process
