HLTA – SEMH Primary School – Chigwell
We are currently recruiting for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH primary school in Chigwell this September. This is a full-time, long-term agency to permanent position.

Location: Chigwell, Essex
Hours:
Monday to Friday
08:30am start daily
Two days finish at 4:30pm
One day finish at 5:00pm
Friday finish at 3:00pm
Role Summary:
You will be stepping into the role of cover teacher or second-in-command, delivering pre-planned lessons across the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong classroom presence and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Candidate Requirements:
HLTA qualification is not essential, but HLTA experience is highly advantageous
Experience from mainstream, SEMH, or SEN settings is welcome
Must be resilient, have a good sense of humour, and show strong initiative
Confident in delivering lessons and supporting behaviour management
About the School:
The school is a residential primary school catering for pupils aged 5–11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Pupils board from Monday to Friday during term time and are referred by Essex County Council. The school is in a semi-rural area of Essex, near the London Borough of Redbridge.
Interviews:
The school is happy to arrange either face-to-face or online interviews over the summer. A visit to the school can also be organised if preferred.
