Title of Position- Chef Manager

Job Description: The Chef Manager will be responsible for all daily operations of the kitchen and cafeteria. Our Chef Manager will lead by example and act as part of the support group for the staff, providing constant feedback and leading our staff towards excellence. Maintaining a positive attitude and professional environment is expected of our Chef Manager. Strong leadership skills and coaching abilities will allow the Chef Manager to assist in providing growth opportunities for the staff. Working with the management team the Chef Manager will ensure health; safety and security procedures are implemented by the entire team according to company and state standards. The Chef Manager tasks include oversight of food preparation, management of line staff and dishwashers, inventory and purchasing, menu creation and pricing, food and staff budgeting, staff scheduling and kitchen safety and cleanliness maintenance.


As a Chef Manager you will be the Face of the Operation. You are Responsible for all the daily food service operations of your site. Provide overall direction, Leadership and you will have high level Client Contact. You will be tasked with achieving various operating and financial goals.


  1. Interview, hire, train, and oversee, employees.
  2. Provide motivation and training to Employees.
  3. Identify top talent and develop team members to move up within the organization
  4. Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food.
  5. Achieves an A rating at each local Health inspection and ensures food safety standards and regulations.
  6. Attend Meetings as required.
  7. Monitor the actions of employees workers to ensure everyone's personal safety
  8. Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality or service
  9. Review Weekly budgets and payroll records and purchase transactions
  10. Establish standards for personnel performance and Meal service


Chef / Manager are generally responsible for all functions of the business related to operation at their assigned site. Considered a hands-on position in service areas – Food prep & meal execution & Meal service plus Administrative responsibilities

2 to 3 years of Cafeteria Corporate or College and Catering Services. Understanding a P& L operation, Food & Payroll control – With A proven track record

Computer Skills – Proficient in use of Email communications etiquette, WORD, EXCEL & POWER POINT Programs &, PDF Files 

Candidates should have and be able to:

·         The Chef Manager must be ServSafe Certified

·         The Chef Manager must be able to pass a Full Criminal Background Check

·         Prerequisite - Complete Criminal Background Check
