SEND Teacher - Independent Specialist School (11-19)Salary: £32,000 - £43,000 | Full-time: 40 hours/weekLocation: Staffordshire | Ofsted Rating: Good Are you an experienced teacher passionate about supporting young people with complex needs? Do you have a strong background or specialism in teaching English, Maths, or Science, and want to make a real difference in a trauma-informed, nurturing environment as a SEND Teacher? Our client, an independent specialist school in Cannock, is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons for students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides small classes and personalised support, helping students who have struggled in mainstream education build resilience, confidence, and a love for learning.What You'll Do
  • Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons tailored to individual pupil needs, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
  • Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Promote pupils' social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective, personalised support.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in specialist education settings
  • Previous experience teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
  • Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and a passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
