Resource Base Teacher - Job Type: Full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Resource Base Teacher to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching within the MLD (Mild Learning Difficulties) resource base, ensuring high-quality education and support to students with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role: - Model expert teaching practices for pupils with MLD both within the resource base and in mainstream settings.
- Track, monitor, and review student progress to inform future planning and maintain detailed and accurate student records.
- Prepare written reports for annual reviews, incorporating insights from other professionals.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with other professionals, services, and parents/carers.
- Support leadership in reviewing data on pupil/student progress and achievement to evaluate and guide the development of provisions.
- Occasionally deputise for the Head of Base and keep abreast of current research on MLD, disseminating findings as appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - A good first degree in a relevant discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or other suitable teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in supporting students with MLD.
- Deep understanding of the National Curriculum and effective differentiation strategies.
- Extensive SEN knowledge, particularly in teaching methods and interventions for children with special educational needs.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
