Primary School Teacher (SEND Specialist)

We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join a mainstream primary school in Chorley, specialising in a SEND class that ranges from Reception to Year 6. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and skilled in supporting diverse learning needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead a class of 20 students with varying special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that are accessible and engaging for all students.
  • Work collaboratively with another teacher and teaching assistants to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs and abilities of the students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting strategies as needed to support individual learning outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their children's progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in school meetings and professional development opportunities related to SEND education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in a SEND environment or extensive knowledge of special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to create inclusive learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and parents.
  • Patience, creativity, and a commitment to providing high-quality education to students with diverse needs.
