Are you ready to take commercial leadership of multi-million-pound infrastructure projects?As a Commercial Manager, you’ll be at the heart of project delivery — overseeing everything from procurement and risk management to financial reporting and stakeholder engagement. You’ll guide your commercial team through every phase of a project, ensuring both commercial success and client satisfaction.This is more than just numbers — it's about making a tangible impact on major projects, leading teams, and helping others grow professionally.What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and implement effective commercial strategies to enhance business growth and profitability.
- Manage the budgeting process, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective cost control measures are in place.
- Lead all commercial and financial aspects of your project(s)
- Drive the development and performance of your commercial team
- Manage contracts, tendering, procurement, and supply chain relationships
- Deliver accurate monthly commercial reports and cost value reconciliations
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to manage commercial risk and resolve disputes
- Champion governance and best practice across the commercial function
- Identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering and digital integration
- Prepare detailed reports on commercial performance, providing insights for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies in all commercial activities.
As a proven Commercial Manager with experience leading teams and delivering results in the civil engineering sector. You're someone who can balance the bigger picture with the detail, and lead with energy, edge, and empathy.
- A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
- Chartered membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- A track record of managing risk, opportunity, and commercial strategy
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and financial management.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
