Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a welcoming Primary School in Portsmouth who are seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to join their Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision from January 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children's lives by supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

What you'll be doing:

Delivering high‑quality teaching within the school's SEN provision

Planning and delivering tailored interventions to meet individual learning needs

Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and learning challenges

Creating and adapting engaging resources to ensure accessibility for all learners

Working closely with the SENCo, Headteacher, staff, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic support

Promoting inclusion and helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence

What we're looking for:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Previous teaching experience in KS1 or KS2, ideally with SEN involvement

A relevant degree (or higher)

Strong understanding of SEN strategies and a commitment to inclusive practice

Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Location: Portsmouth

Position: SEN Provision Teacher

Start date: January 2026

Duration: Long‑term, ongoing

Hours: Full‑time, Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)

Pay: In line with Main Teacher Pay Scale
